We prayerfully seek to accomplish this through the practical teaching of the Bible, which equips the Saints to bring glory to God through:
It is our desire to be found faithful when the Lord returns.
The head of the church is the Lord Jesus Jesus. The Bible is our sole authority for faith and practice. Our mission is to share the message of salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ to see people saved (Romans 10:13)
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
(Ephesian 5:13).

Maranatha Baptist Church began on Resurrection Sunday, April 1999, with a vision to create a caring community of believers committed to living out the truths of God’s Word. As an Independent Fundamental Baptist Church, we are rooted in the New Testament model, with Jesus Christ as our head and the Bible as our sole authority for faith and practice.
We gather regularly to worship, fellowship, and learn of God's perfect plan for our lives. (Hebrews 10:25).
Every Independent Fundamental Baptist church is an autonomous congregation. We are self-governing and self-supporting. The head of the Church is the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible is our sole authority for faith and practice. Jesus Christ has given us a mandate to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Matthew 28:19 & 20: Acts 4:12)
While life’s challenges affect us all, we have found answers, hope, and joy in the promises of Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
Today, we remain dedicated to our mission: proclaiming the message of salvation through Jesus Christ and fulfilling His Great Commission to reach the world with the gospel (Matthew 28:19-20).
We are your friends, neighbors, and community members. We are not immune to the problems of life however we have discovered God has all the answers for a perfect plan for a joyous life.

His Journey of Faith
Before encountering Christ, Pastor Gillespie wrestled with questions about eternity, especially during his time in the Navy in Norfolk VA. A life-changing moment came in 1974 when Dr. James Earls shared the assurance of salvation from the 1st Epistle of John 5:13. That evening, Pastor realized he was a sinner and asked Jesus to save him. He received the gift of eternal life and for the first time in his life he had peace and purpose.
A Heart for Missions
After his service in the Navy in 1975, God placed a clear burden on Pastor Gillespie’s heart: the need for sound, gospel-centered churches. In response to this calling, he dedicated his life to preaching, teaching, and planting churches that uphold the full counsel of God’s Word.
Pastor Gillespie’s story is a testament to God’s transformative power and faithfulness. He invites you to join our church family to experience God’s love and truth in a welcoming, Christ-centered community.
